Sebastian Krakowski, Assistant Professor
House of Innovation, Stockholm School of Economics
I love technology. But I focus on the human side of AI. How we get the strategy and implementation right. How we use it to become more human, not less.
My background is in economics and management, and my research sits at the intersection of digital technology and organizational strategy, particularly AI. I study what happens when organizations actually adopt and use the stuff. Machine learning, generative AI, all of it. The behavioral and organizational implications. What works, what doesn't, and why. Turns out, it's complicated. Who knew.
I teach too. Undergraduates, graduates, executives. I like sharing research-based insights with people who'll actually use them. My work has been published in journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Information & Organization, Management Science, and Strategic Management Journal, and I was featured in the Thinkers50 Radar List 2025.
I have been a visiting researcher at Warwick Business School and am affiliated with Stanford University and The Institute for Futures Studies.

I do AI research. The kind where we actually run experiments in real organizations and figure out what works, what doesn't, and why. Not opinions. Not whatever's trending. Evidence. If you want to collaborate on a study, reach out. Want to see what that looks like? (Check out Selected Publications above.) My latest Pharma paper is a decent example, and it got some media attention too (see Media Features below). Who wouldn't want +40% rather than -20% performance with AI?
I also do learning. Workshops, seminars, keynotes. AI strategy, business models, the future of work, that sort of thing. I lead AI for Business Leaders at SSE Executive Education and run open or customized sessions grounded in research and experience.
Past clients include SSE Executive Education, UEFA Academy, Eisai, Niterra Group (Venture Lab), and Meritmind. Startups to multinationals. Boards and TMTs to operational staff. Industrials, education, defense, pharma, consulting, medical devices, energy, software, and more.
